Introducing a new, fun and interactive biotech workshop for adult non-scientists that explores genetically-modified (GM) foods and their influence on the environment and wellness.
During this four hour (2day 2hr ea) workshop, attendees become “biotech researchers.” They will learn as well as practice cutting-edge biotechnology to analyze food samples brought from home for genetic modifications.
In the workshop “biotech researchers:”
-Receive a biotech GM lab manual,
-Isolate DNA from food samples,
-Amplify certain genetic modifications,
-Analyze results to determine GM, and
-Discuss latest GM information on environment, food supply & health.
All information presented in fun and easy-to-understand formats.
